Royal Cardi

The Duchess of Cambridge wore a super-cute crocheted top (Whistles of the UK) during her visit to Southern California this summer, and it spurred a little discussion on Ravelry.com.  There are a couple of very talented crocheters who have completed their own Kates, but I haven't found a written pattern yet.  I'm going to go for it!  Is anyone else working it out?

I've been talking with Rav user Hrafna, who has started a project page with her notes:

And here is a Russian thread discussing the top (please do not copy their notes elsewhere):

My challenge will be figuring out the measurements for the set-in sleeves. Also, I may want to modify the waistline, to more of an Empire waist, because my girls are more "robust" than the Duchess's.

Invaluable are Rav user Kermitina's photos of her own identical top (Thank you, Thank you!!!)

Stay tuned, I'm working on my charts for the stitch patterns.

February 26, 2012:  I bought some yarn at the Stitches West show.  It's a little thicker than what is shown above but I think it'll be nice for my version of the Royal Cardi.
